How would you describe your role?
My goal is to be present in the community, tell our story, what we stand for, build relationships and support other businesses.
Tell us about your professional background. What did you do before The Pest Company, and how does that experience show up in your work today?
I spent my career in finance and commercial real estate. Both are fast-moving and you're only as good as your results, so I learned quickly to become comfortable with rejection and forge forward. That mindset has stuck with me and it's a big part of why I enjoy what I do now. I'm out meeting people every day, and not every conversation turns into business, but everyone is a chance to build a relationship.
What part of the job do you love most?
Building something from the ground up, with our values.
What's one thing you wish every homeowner or business owner knew about pest control?
How science-driven pest control is. It's regulated by the Florida Department of Agriculture, and every technician is trained and licensed. There's a lot more care and expertise behind each visit than most people realize.
What does "taking care of the little things" mean to you personally?
Going above and beyond just treating. If we spot something that could turn into a problem, we will let the homeowner know, and if the garbage can is still at the curb, we’ll pull it in. It's the little stuff, but we like being an extra set of eyes for the people we take care of.
If you could get rid of one pest from the face of the earth forever, which one would it be and why?
Cockroaches; they freak me out.

Spending time with family

The people, how welcoming and kind everyone is and willingness to help.
What's a local spot, event, or cause in Jacksonville that you think everyone should know about?
I had the chance to help with the buildout and vendor relations for DASH (Design, Accessories, Style, Home). The owner's vision is a high-end design center for everything home, and it's truly exquisite.
